Ah, the 2000s… what a wonderful time for music. And especially music videos. There were a lot of iconic videos, but I have to say that not all of them were perfectly aged.
Here are 19 music video moments that in retrospect are awkward, disgusting, ridiculous, or just plain 2000s.
We have to start with Taylor Swift’s iconic notepad writing in the “You Belong With Me” music video.
This little “I’m sorry” look… changed my life.
And in the ending, the man somehow holds a piece of paper with “I love you” written on it.

The music video for Pink’s “Stupid Girls” teased celebs in what looked like an obvious caricature of Lindsay Lohan and other 2000s female celebrities…:

Here’s the moment from *this* line and the accompanying music video from Demi Lovato’s “La La Land”:
Everything about Katy Perry’s “Ur So Gay” song and video is clearly about Pete Wentz, especially this moment that marks the song.
Lil Mama’s mother’s advice in the “Lip Gloss” music video:
Britney uses perfume at the beginning of her “Circus” music video.
NSYNC marionettes dancing in the “Bye Bye Bye” music video:
Avril Lavigne’s random basket in the “Complicated” music video:
And when Britney Spears did the same in “Oops!”… I did it again—but she changed outfits mid-spin…:
