This post contains a discussion of body image issues.
Taron Egerton: A kind man.you’ve seen him play some kind of spy kingsman movies; he definitely knows how to avoid espionage.
I mean, look at this photo. It’s like yelling “James Bond,” right?
Admittedly, Taron has a rather… Bond-esque way of life, and if you’re on social media, you’ve probably had a few people say, ‘Hey, why can’t this guy be the next James Bond? ?”
Not so fast, Talon says. The actor recently gave an interview to The Telegraph (via people), and he threw a 007-sized bucket of cold water on rumors that he was also interested in stepping into Daniel Craig’s shoes.
“I don’t think I’m the right choice,” Taron explained, suggesting his reason had to do with his own body image.
“To be that guy you have to be consistently statuesque,” he said. “And that’s what I still strive for. I’ve always struggled with my weight. I did.”
Okay, let’s keep it real — the idea that you have to look Certain ways to play James Bond are ridiculous at first glance. I don’t think anyone has ever seen a James Bond movie and asked themselves, “Yes, but how much does he weigh?” It doesn’t matter at all.
To be fair, he had other reasons for not wanting to take the role. Taron also explained that being Bond “is like being an actor and a brand ambassador at the same time.”
“And that might be really fun in the microcosm, but I’m sure I read it. [producer] Barbara Broccoli said it was a 15-year commitment.
Taron himself says he isn’t looking for the role, at least not yet. “Anyway, how I feel about it is irrelevant.
Let’s see how this goes!
